The only that was an enjoyable experience for me was MX Linux. I still use it on one of my laptops.

Wished I would’ve waited till my brain was fully developed before I ever tried it but I’m kinda neutral on it.

Sometimes I hope it’s 80’s rock like Dokken or Ratt or something but it never is. Or if it is, it’s dogshit like Motely Crue or Poison.

My current one isn’t terrible and is probably the “best” I’ll get in that I’m left alone for the most part. It also helps it’s remote and that I only share like 5% of my personality and otherwise keep to myself. After some previous bad experiences with bosses/co-workers, I never actually am myself at work anymore, just this sort of shell automaton that will sometimes let a small sliver of personality slip out - just enough to keep me likeable and left alone.

I got a bunch of free DVDs and among them was Van Hellsing (2004)
I didn’t remember anything about it other than the scene where the horse carriage goes over a cliff and then explodes so I thought it’d be funny to watch it with my partner.
Man, this wasn’t even a “so bad it’s good” kinda film, it was genuinely fucking awful. I could’ve forgiven a lot of it but it was waaaaaay too long for what it was. Something like 130 minutes? Could’ve been an hour max.
Runner up: Repo: The Genetic Opera, but I still liked it.

I wasn’t able to afford a dentist until I was 35 and had to have a lot of work done which included getting 7 teeth pulled and braces. It’s gonna suck for a while but you’re gonna feel so happy once you have nice teeth. Congrats!

I’ve gotten back into physical cookbooks as well and 2 of my favorites are ‘Vegan With A Vengeance’ by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and ‘Isa Does It’ by the same author. Good stuff. Has basically every kind of food, gives a good list of pantry staples to cook all the ingredients, and was one of the books I bought on a whim like 16 years ago or so that kickstarted my interest in veganism.
the weird “seed oils are the source of all evil” shit that’s been astroturfed since that one dude went on a joe rogan podcast
