Transfem@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Remove Nutomic from Lemmy development for transphobia - Change.orgEnglish
7·7 months agoIt does show he is not going to learn from or sincerely apologize for his transphobic statement
Furthermore, I think it’s perfectly fine to bring up such a problematic statement from a person, no matter how old it is, for as long as it’s still relevant. Just because he isn’t making statements publicly doesn’t mean he doesn’t still believe these things, or takes actions (e.g. voting) that supports these statements.
If he had retracted his statements, gave a sincere apology and made some effort to educate himself then it would be different. Then I’d be right along with you in stating that it should just be allowed to rest.
But given that Nutomic has clearly demonstrated that he hasn’t done any of that in the time since his original statement, then it’s fair game to keep such things about his character in the public mind

Only sorry that it came out
Nah, airlines have their planes in a complex web of routes all dependent on each other, that plane would fly regardless because after it gets (if it got there heh) to the next airport it would also prob have a route from that airport to another

21·7 months ago25% of all countries were subject to some type of sanctions by either the USA, the EU, or the UN in the 2010–22 period
It’s right in the intro, though it doesn’t specify “The West” specifically, it is an apt summary.
Also this was a .ml crosspost, but I did not find the title to be misrepresentative, so I left it
Confirms something I’ve strongly suspected about you.
If what I think you’re hinting about is what you’re hinting about, you might not have come across my work yet

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think of imitation and lab-grown meats?
1·7 months agoYea I can see that. I personally detest tofu, except when in a dish that’s built around it rather than trying to imitate something else. Like in miso soup it’s delicious!

Real blocking, faster development, third-party apps like Boost are now adopting support and no toxic political string attached
Yea, it’s got a good foundation and their campaign intro statement basically nails the hardware issue observed from past attempts, they just gotta make it to shelves lol
Fuck I hope they make it to production LMAO
@weirdo_from_space@sh.itjust.works
I’d bet it was the hardware specs, that’s what it was for me, I took one look at the specs and immediately moved on. Clearly, others were thinking the same.
I can deal with immature buggy software, software can always be freely updated. But subpar, underspecced hardware can only be fixed with buying more or different hardware
No linux phone will succeed for as long as they keep making them with shit specs
Squid guy could be a black market book seller lmao
Metal won’t work because wireless charging is expected for most phones
It’s not an impossible problem to solve, Qi just doesn’t care. Qualcomm solved it with their wireless charging standard 10 years ago
Leaves glass and plastic, which are both found on premium phones.
I don’t think I’ve seen a “premium” phone with a plastic back in a LONG time
it feels and looks nicer than plastic and doesn’t scratch as easily
There’s a wide range of plastics, it gets a bad rap because of the cheap shit that’s often used, but there’s absolutely a “high end” plastic side of the scale that can beat glass and not nearly as fragile
Taking into account manufacturers somehow decided that glass, a very fragile material ESPECIALLY when thin, should be the ✨premium✨ material and all decent phones NEED to be wrapped in it…
Maybe there’s some truth to that lmao
No, but that’s just criticism or condemnation of specific actions taken by a certain military, which should always be done.
But condemning a country just for having a military is what’s silly
While its true in an ideal world there would be no militaries and no war
Unfortunately, we do not live in that world, any country that doesn’t have a, or is under the protection of another’s, military will be taken advantage of sooner or later.
There are many hostile countries in this world

Lol they are all too happy to use the evil bad western news and even Wikipedia when it supports their positions
