Normal people work there, too, especially those who became meta employees through acquisutions.

AUR itself is fine, the issue in this case is more with the automated system allowing anyone to take over orphaned/abandoned packages. This is a targeted attack leveraging that system.

This is cool, id be curious to see something similar for piefed.
What’s the approx. delta on your end? And what’s your average uptime?
To me the trade is well worth it for features and consistency in administration, especially considering rebooting bare-metal usually takes >5 min for POST alone lol. With great (amount of) DIMMs comes great responsibility.
Everyone draws the line somewhere, that’s exactly why I said I agree with your sentiment. I’m not the type of guy that only uses specific hardware because the BIOS/UEFI fw is open source.
Steam isn’t a game though, is there an alternative to Steam that’s open source?
I agree with your overall sentiment, but your examples are kinda strange. There are so many viable open source browsers out there, but how many open source video game markets with AAA games are around?

It’s a pretty basic Lua-based workaround, but it works. It won’t be long before some properly patches out this behavior, but unfortunately you’ll still need reframework for the injection to work due to Capcom anti-tamper.

There’s already a mod on NexusMods, check latest mods. Steam DLC unlockers exist, as well, if you’re willing to go dow that route.

This chud is absolutely lost in the sauce.

I’m aware of the shit Meta has done over the years, that’s why I don’t use their products.
But, back to the point, I’ve met people that work for Meta directly or under acquired companies that are doing beneficial stuff and making a good living doing it, including open-source development and accessibility research/development. You can be hardline but not everything is so black and white.
