Things like this are why I hope that Spacebar, a FOSS self hosted Discord alternative looking to reach feature parity with Discord, takes off in similar fashion to Mastodon and Lemmy.
That’s a shame. My limited understanding is that it’s a difficult feature to implement which is a bummer. It’s the biggest hold up from having a candidate for Discord alternative for my group of friends.
Yeah, same for my friendgroup. We’re starting to use TS6. It supports screensharing now, but sadly it’s only P2P. But the selfhost server software is in the works.

Sadly the video chat feature is not being worked on and it is also not planed for the forseable future.
