I never actually watched the classic series. I was aware of it, but never watched BattleBots until my bf got us watching the 2019 season.
But my favorite heavyweights are the Team Seems Reasonable bots, Tantrum and Blip. They cute.
I also really like anything Charles Guan builds. He makes some wacky stuff.

Yeah so the show rebooted in 2016 and 2017 on abc, then moved to discovery for several more seasons. They just keep getting better. The show is on hiatus right now without a deal, so they’ve been doing a sort of side show on youtube with lower production values to try and get a new season.

I’m not good at swordfighting, but I love it. I’ve been struggling to find a non cult kung fu place that teaches weapon techs, so maybe I’ll be better at it soon! I’m not bougie enough for fencing and HEMA is too scary to approach.
Don’t know about weapon techs, but I have been to a Wing Chun place that I really liked. Maybe I would have learned more about self defence from something like Krav Maga, but I do feel much more confident in my ability to fight back if I need to now
There’s a Wing Chun in my area that I’ll probs fall back on if I can’t find what I’m looking for.
I find krav maga to be kinda gross. Jujitsu + Muay Thai is the same foundations without getting into Israeli traditions.
