Pretty sure sausages have been around for thousands of years in many cultures so it really doesn‘t matter. There is no continuity to the present culture of German states to draw a meaningful conclusion here anyway. A state that didn‘t exist at the time can‘t really claim heritage.
As for Currywurst I think it‘s from Berlin. Even through I‘m from NRW that seems to be the more plausible story.

Is there much difference between what Americans and Germans call a bratwurst? I’d love to try the “real deal” someday.
