    Tell me you don’t know who Gunnery Sergeant Hathcock is without saying it.

    He’s the longest sniper shot in Marine corps history. 1.4 miles in Vietnam. (Not the guy in the photo)

      Also the M84 scope fitted in the photo was only 2.5x magnification. It was really low and more suited to a marksman role than a dedicated sniper role. Hathcock for example most commonly used an 8x scope, in comparison.

        He’s not just famous in the US but also internationally in marksman circles because he held the record for longest sniper kill shot by anyone for like 3 decades. I only gave the marines part because he still holds that record. He’s been surpassed by 10 or so other shooters since the early 2000s.
