The first series would have worked in particular, in which he wore that beyond-ridiculous codspiece. I’d say it worked pretty well, given that he was such a sniveling coward in the first series. 😄

Also, bonus pts for Blackie starting out as a perfectly lovely bloke in the beginning of the one above. (and great cameos, too)
No episode in particular - though if I had to choose an episode, it would doubtlessly be from Season 4.
