I have always show link below post disabled but in post and comments view for post the link is always shown below.

In settings, based on the example, when toggling this setting no link should be displayed below and I guess tapping directly on image should open the link?

Is there something I don’t understand or is it a known bug? I couldn’t find any post about it! If it is really a bug then it’s strange that no one would have reported it before.

    Looks like the same thing is happening to mark duplicates post as read.
    I noticed reading one marked the others read even though option is off. Tried toggle it on/off with no luck. Is it possible some settings failed to be read?

      Could be but I’ve not seen this before. You should be able to see the source of truth via Settings > Import & export settings > View current settings. It should show you the raw data of what settings are saved to disk.

      If you want me to verify these for you you can also tap on “Copy settings for debugging” and post them here or DM me.

        Actually I can reproduce it :

        1. Go to linux@lemmy.ml
        2. Check posts “Progress Report: Linux 7.2 - Asahi Linux” are unread, 2 exists on the same community :
        1. Open one, go back : both are marked read in the list of posts even though mark duplicates as read is off (also checked view current settings)
        2. If you were also subscribed to linux@programming.dev then open it : same post is also read even though you didn’t open it

        Checked current settings and it was off. I reset it searched for a cross post, couldn’t reproduce it. I don’t know if it solved itself since I posted or if resetting fixed it. Anyways seems to work now! Thanks for your help.
