Not everyone has the luxury to be choosy about their employer. Did you forget we are living in late stage capitalism with an ever growing impoverishment rate?
The company doesn’t pull you off the street and enslave you. You chose them. You fill out the application, you take the interview, you accept the offer. You’re not stuck, you can do it again. I’ve done it several times. I recognize it’s not easy but it is doable.
But where do you draw the line? If it’s a literal orphan-crushing-company?
It’s in your power to not procreate and not to work at evil companies. The consequences are sadly also yours alone, that’s right.
No? Microsoft, x, meta, apple, every “ai”-company, every “modern” car-company, big oil, Samsung and the others, …
Wouldn’t work there, even if I had to.
Anectodally, once, when I still worked sometimes, I had the main-admin job at a very major nonprofit that aims to cure (some disease).
Quit after a month of seeing how this monster worked. It was made to amass billions, the cellar was full of old people’s precious inheritance that was talked outta them by a whole floor of lawyers.
And 0.2% actually went into curing the thing. While the ceos went home with 6figures starting with a 3, Audi r8s and unlimited budget for “business meetings”.
Noone cared. Noone. I was shocked by the ignorance.

Most companies don’t make their harms so obvious.
