Who could have guessed that the war of attrition the West was confident it would win wouldn’t end as they thought? I guess they haven’t sacrificed enough Ukrainian men, but it won’t stop them from doing the same thing to every country Russia borders.
NATO could counter this by sending more aid to Ukraine. Germany could send Taurus missiles and more Leopard 2s. France could give Ukraine its Rafale fighter jets.
I don’t think Germany can afford to do more. People are already protesting, economy is on a downfall, car companies in a downspiral, and at this point people are pissed that they aren’t living their luxury lives anymore and government helps others, which is one of the reason AfD is on a rise.
But Germany has to think of a way to fight Russia’s hybrid war against Europe.

The AfD is doing well in former East Germany but might falter in former West Germany. Note that in the Berlin election the Left Party won. The CDU has to replace Merz. He is old and lack charisma.
