Have you ever heard the phrase “The revolution will not be televised”?
Seems like you just want an excuse to blame americans for not doing enough when all you have is american news from whatever country you’re from - but sure - keep holding that reductive belief

I think a lot of people are confusing what the AUR actually IS. It is NOT the official package repository used by Archlinux - it’s more like a bunch of community install scripts for stuff that isn’t officially supported yet - for popularity or other reasons.
So for all those people complaining and saying “debian does it better” it’s very likely that you would not even HAVE a package to install and would have to come up with a build script on your own - the AUR allows you to skip this and instead just verify that the script itself isn’t malicious, which is usually fairly obvious.
A lot of people here seem to be under the impression that all of this effort should be abstracted for them - but that’s what you chose when you left windows - a system that you control intimately with a necessitation to actually do some upkeep yourself because a giant company isn’t doing it for you.
In other words. RTFM and stop expecting other people fix all your problems for you, because that’s exactly how windows got to how it currently is.

Honestly a great move from the .world admins to prevent themselves from becoming too big, and I applaud their effort to piss everyone off and make them leave for more community oriented instances lmao

It’s so hilarious that the most recent thing that’s happened on this shitty PR is a request for Claude to review their code.
Oh ok, because in the country + area that YOU live in there’s a wealth of printers you can apparently find in dumpsters, and because YOU have both the physical ability and time avaliable to go diving in dumpsters, THE ENTIRE WORLD does not need a new printer??
I need some of whatever you are smoking

I think the actual issue I had at release with edith finch was that it was 20 bucks for a 3 hour non replayable experience
I don’t really think that the world is free from ever needing a new printer, what kind of take is that? This project promises 3d buildable components that run on a pi? Exactly how does that contribute to global e-waste if that’s your point? PLA plastic biodegrades, pis can be re-used for other stuff, and inkjet cartridges can be refilled. What possible issue could you find with a project that’s open to the public and you can construct yourself??
not exactly sure what your point is here? Having an open source repairable printer is great

Try the steam deck or wait for the steam controller! The touchpads work great once you get used to them!

Single gpu passthrough vm works flawlessly if you can take the time to set it up

I actually took the advice here and used niri and it works great!

You know it’s a good article when a dumb tankie is seething in the comments

Thanks! I’ll take a look

Thought it was common knowledge at this point…

And so, one of the moderators changed the pronouns in their nickname to “who/cares”. […] Let’s be real, this isn’t like, calling someone the N-word or something.

I hate jeeps as much as the next guy but glass transmission subarus being at the top of the list for reliability, as well as the fact that the rating is based off of “user predicted reliability” tells me everything I need to know about this list
I’ve never personally had issues with 8x7b refusing requests, but I guess I haven’t really plumbed the depths on what it might agree or disagree to, I have run it through the ordinary gambit (pretend to be public figure x, make dangerous item y, say untrue thing about company z) and it hasn’t given me any problems but sure whatever works for you
Actually not 100% true, you can offload a portion of the model into ram to save VRAM to save money on a crazy gpu and still run a decent model, it just takes a bit longer. I personally can wait a minute for a detailed answer instead of needing it in 5 seconds but of course YMMV
I wouldn’t say it’s easy to get started…
You have to know about open source AI models, then you have to know what fine tuning is, then you have to know where to go to get software that runs the models, and then finally you need to know what models are compatible with both AMD and Nvidia graphics cards.
