France put in a place the Hadopi in 2010 (now part of the Arcom) specifically to target people torrenting copyrighted stuff.
I understand the concept of a block (even if they don’t really exist in my city), but that doesn’t really give me an idea of the actual distance, so it’s a pretty useless information to me. Using proper standard metrics makes much more sense.
That is really disappointing… I understand the dev wanting to move on to something else after 10 years, but it would have been nice to not do it so abruptly.
Currently, I’m not aware of any good alternative to Mull…
Thanks to your comment (and this post), I discovered that Rawb now has a peertube instance. I used to follow him when he was actively doing pokémon nuzlocks and also URealms.
jlai.lu is basically reddit (as “read it”) but written in French
I guess in the US pharmacies aren’t located near doctors ? Even in cities ? Where I’m from I usually just have to walk 3-5 minutes if not less to find a pharmacy after I went to the doctor.
I think I already have trouble understanding why a pharmacy has the need for a drive through
Close to my home, there is a crossing without traffic lights next to the bus stop I get off at. I can’t count the number of times a car, or even more frequently a motorbike, coming from the right (which means I am in the middle of the crossing) sped up in order to be able to go through in front of me. And of course, most of the time they end up having to hard break in order to not run me over, and they still manage to complain (and most of the time while honking) that I am crossing at a crossing.
I really enjoy using Zen. It’s pretty, has plenty of neat features that don’t require extensions, and the development is very active. The software is not yet mature, so it frequently changes behaviours and how things look, so new users need to be aware of that.
I did try Floorp a few months ago, but I didn’t like it as much. It felt like using regular Firefox with a few tweaks.
Yeah. I use KeepassXC on my computers and KeepassDX on my phone. All synced with syncthing and it works great.
I don’t think the lemmy interface tells you the number of active users for in instance
I think what you see on the main page (at the bottom right, just below the instance description/rules) is the instance’s specific stats.
You clearly do not know how things work in France. We have tons of things fiscally in place that make it so that in practice, you have to earn much more than that to truly pay taxes.
I don’t have time currenty to enumerate all of that, but I’ll come back to you later if I don’t forget.
Most young people do not pay income taxes currently, only the wealthy ones. So this reduction would only apply to already rich people.
Meh, if your house is built correctly, it is not needed. And you also get used to it.
I just use a fan during the night, which does the job without having to use so much electricity.
I’ve never had AC at home, and that’s also the case for most people I know. I live in the south of France.
I never really understood the need for such apps when mail clients such as Thunderbird exist.
I don’t use any mainstream social media, but I don’t see how that is hardcore? I simply socialize in real life when I need it. And I feel like people mainly really use social media to entertain themselves.
