  • A failure? What’s that even mean? Do we measure our success by how useful a specific capitalist organization finds us at any given moment? You aren’t a failure. You are just another person trying to make ends meet and getting screwed over by the system. Doing the best you can like anyone else.

    Here’s a checklist:

Can you pay your bills for the next 6 months? If no, figure out how to fix that ASAP.

Do you know what you want to do next? If no, start pondering on it.

Have you taken advantage of any support that is out there for you? Unemployment for example. If no, do it.

If all of those are handled then you are good to take a breath and just figure your shit out. Maybe try to do something you didn’t have the time to before. Spend more time with family. Something like that. Whatever it is that would make you happy right now.

  • I’m the same. I have to be careful how I phrase things because it can sound transphobic if like someone asks you what you are and you just say “Well I have x genitals so just go with that I guess?” because you just don’t care. Like call me whatever you want. want me to wear a certain type of clothing because of some social convention? Sure idc. I’ll wear a dress, or a suit. Don’t care. I just don’t want to pay for them. I 100% support anyone doing anything they want with their gender. Let me know what you want to be called, and remind me if I slip up because I don’t even remember peoples names most of the time, but I’ll say what you want me to say. But for me personally? You can call me anything you want. He, Her, They, It, Dumbass, Tankie, .ml, shut the fuck up, etc It don’t bother me one bit.

  • So genuinely I think making a new sect of a religion that is entirely focused on privacy could be a genius move. Maybe the Satanist Church? They’re already a thing maybe they’d be down for it. Then everyone who is into privacy just cites their religious beliefs whenever they get pushback. The religious in the US are like the most protected class of people there is. So taking advantage of that could be super effective.

Edit: It’s The Satanist Temple I was thinking of and these are their current tenets: I One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason. II The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions. III One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone. IV The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one’s own. V Beliefs should conform to one’s best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one’s beliefs. VI People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one’s best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused. VII Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

I think you could easily argue Tenet 3 for this case.

  • I don’t see what this has to do with trans people? As if people of the same sex at birth can’t end up with wildly different weights as well? Like a 200lbs woman beating the shit out of a 100lbs woman wouldn’t be allowed in any sport. So why would it suddenly be allowed if the 200lbs woman is trans? Also, “unfair” gets me here. Sports aren’t fucking fair! That’s the entire point. It’s a physical competition where some people have an inherent advantage due to genetics. Trans people existing doesn’t change that, and doesn’t make it any less fair. This just reeks of you seeing all these “no men in womens sports” arguments and not taking the time to actually examine if those arguments are valid or not.
