I really don’t understand the esp32 Lora radios, they use so much power they’re useless for anything battery powered. I only use one as my home gateway since it has WiFi and I keep it plugged in. It hops through my low power tree node as a proxy.

Something I do which I’ve come to find is unusual is a Mexican-ish side dish. Soak and cook black beans. Then cook some onions in another pot, when soft add some cumin seeds and bloom then, deglaze with tequila, add the black beans and orange juice. Smash some of the beans to make it thicker. Cover and simmer for an hour. Its a magnificent side.
Dont be so rigid in your perspective. First off, when you are towing anything big your range always gets cut in half, it just matters more for electric. Still, my next vehicle will be the electric 150. I have solar panels for free electricity, the truck can also work as a whole house backup power station. It can plow, it can tow well for most of what I need to do, I can commute to work on solar and my whole family fits in it. Its a great truck, its not for everyone but it most certainly has its place.

All fair points, assuming you write all your code yourself. But WiFi is still a pig even with optimization, coin cell is impossible which is what he/she asked to use.
If you want this to be powered by a coincell battery or any battery you need to figure out a power budget and pick a wireless protocol. WiFi is incredibly power hungry and won’t happen with a battery unless you like charging it every few days. If you are willing to make it a powered setup it will open many options otherwise youre stuck with zwave, ZigBee, BLE and LoRA. If you want to mix this project with other fun stuff like LoRa/meshtastic look into these. They snap into a main board and you can add a temp and humidity sensor and collect the data over BLE, add a screen and communicate over LoRa for miles. I can get these to run on a 18650 battery for about 3 weeks.
Esp32 will demolish a full sized battery, never mind a coincell.

My install is bare metal, all SSD, redis and php-fpm optimization and I’m extremely happy with the performance. Also use transcoding from an Intel a380 and use Memories for the whole family. Works snappy and flawless. You need to tweak the php settings.
