In general, if journalists took climate change seriously, most of media would be about it; most screens would be half about it, with tickers and banners constantly on it. The anti-alarmists are the half-assers who took the air out of it.

1·27 days agoForeign currency.
Obviously, it’s not a guarantee, but if you keep foreign currency in your bank account, a financial crisis might lead to imposing limits on withdrawals. This happened in Lebanon a few years ago.

82·27 days ago“Many people told me that out of fear of war and inflation they had moved away from stocks and bank accounts, investing in gold instead. Some said they kept larger sums of cash on hand so they could access it quickly if needed,” he said.
Yes. There are always pros and cons. The “loot boxes” are safe from inflation and bank account limits, but they are exposed to* thieves just like keeping money in a safe or under the bed at home.
The safest bet is always to invest in society, not in your private treasure chest.

Think of how science works. Lots of people focus deeply on specific topics and try to figure it out, model it and theorize the shit out of it until it’s stable or abandoned to some obscure library that few look up. There are new topics, new domains, yes, but there’s only one reality. Scientists don’t just branch off into a “new reality” to research and reinvent science from scratch.
Wikipedia reflects that both methodologically and topically, with collective efforts to cover single topics well.

We need trains, buses, trams, and bicycles.
