Personally I avoid anything with proprietary drivers or firmware. Qmk keyboard are plentiful and don’t require OEM software to program.

Keychron had lots of options many with qmk.

For mice a strongly dislike anything razor as they feature and software lock their mice behind registration. Requiring me to sign up to get driver’s is unacceptable.

I ended up with a Glorious D- and it’s been good to me so far.

The mx masters are my go to as well. Logitech has gone down hill lately but these mice are awesome.

I’ve been using my MX Master 3S for three years now, and while I love it, the right click recently got really wonky. It only registers the click like 6 out of 10 times, which is unacceptable for my job.

Doubt it’s still in warranty, but I plan to try to get them to replace it. I was thinking about trying the vertical MX Master instead, but I love the magnetic scroll wheel on the normal MX Master too much. I don’t think I can go back to a mouse with a “normal” scroll wheel.

Check out keychron or ducky keyboards maybe? I’ve been much happier with them than the big names. Had each of the other keyboards you listed and they simply didn’t last or feel as premium as my keychron

it has served me well for more than 4 years now.

keeb can be whatever you want, since I never use anything less than megakeebs (full, plus everything, and numpad)

I got a razor Mouse a few years back and it’s legit one of my most regretted purchases of all time. I hate it so much.

I used to use ducky because everything was controlled in the keyboard. No software. I still use ducky for my work keyboard.

    Mouse is the classic g502

My keyboard is now a Odin R4 which I use VIA to program

Seriously FUCK razer. Their hardware is OK, but the software is such a huge flaming pile of dogshit. I had an old black widow keyboard that I was having trouble setting macros for. I figured a firmware update would help. I clicked update and it immediately bricked the keyboard. Turns out it was a known issue for that particular model of black widow and I had found posts from TWO YEARS PRIOR with the same issue and they never fucking fixed it and wouldn’t RMA until I sent several scathing emails. Also synapse liked to freeze and crash for no reason, to the point where it was completely inoperable even after a fresh boot. It needed a complete reinstall every few months just to keep it working.

Also went through two death adders in a few years. The scroll wheel goes soft and becomes erratic after a year, and the button switches are shit and start failing to completely actuate after a while causing double clicks when you single click and prevent you from dragging anything.

With that out of the way, logitech g502 is the best mouse ever. I’ve had the same one for a long-ass time, maybe 10 years? And it still behaves like new.

Keyboards are a whole different beast. Basically find something in the form factor you like with switches you like and has a good reputation and you should be good.

I’ve had a Corsair k65 for over a year and really like it. For my mouse I have had a Logitech g703 for around 5 years.

But since these aren’t $5000 custom PC accessories they’re total trash man.

Mice are a dime a dozen, they all have pros and cons. There is no perfect mouse. I have been chasing that for years. Since the Logitech mx518. The only Logitech one I like now is the master MX series, the rest feel cheap. Razer for the all the deserved hate, is fine. Corsair was okay, not great, not bad. Same for steel series. End of the day, they are all the same. Main is finding the one that fits your grip and hand size.

Keyboards, I love a mechanical one. Those are my go to. But, the prices have gotten outrageous for no reason. Other than people keep paying for it to be part of some secret club. I don’t want to pay 200+ for a keyboard. I’m using a razer huntsman v2 tkl at the moment, cause I got it on sale. But the razer is fine, it works. Corsair is the only one I really caution against. The device itself is fine and built well, last time I had one anyway. But they use a weird size/spacing on the layout, so it takes some getting used to.

I can’t recommend the exact model because I have a cheap Trust myself, but your wrist would appreciate a vertical mouse. The selection is limited though, especially with gaming products.

Keyboard really depends on how much you want to spend. A good custom isn’t cheap but can be a lot lot nicer than any pre built and a closer match to what you actually like to type on and want it to look like. If you aren’t already familiar with switches, stabs, etc. then its a deep hole to fall into.

The expensive gaming mice only seem worth it to me if you are pretty competitive at whatever games you play. Otherwise its like a fat old man buying race running shoes and expecting it to improve their performance rather than, you know, actual training. I like the look of the zero mouse if I was going down this route, but I do not game competitively and I am happy with my ploopy adept trackball.
