That sounds perfect - what model is it?
I use Debian GNOME and Wayland is the default now, with GNOME on Xorg as an optional session in the login manager.
I suspect that people just aren’t really downloading files to their phones any more, at least not in the conventional sense.
Awesome, I didn’t know it know had slang 👍

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•is it a good idea to invest in etfs long term right now (volatile potus)?
21·6 days agoIt’s already too late. Even if everything goes ‘back to normal’ tomorrow we’ll be feeling all of the delayed economic effects of this which haven’t even come into full effect yet. That’s just in the short/medium term. In the long term there’s definitely going to be a very big impact on the way the world interacts with the US and therefore the global economy. I think that those of us who are fortunate enough to survive it are going to live through one of civilisation’s big ‘re-shapings’, of which this war with Iran will be an important episode of an important chapter.

Linux@lemmy.ml•How do you restore ghosted window when going from dual monitor/laptop setup back to laptop?
1·20 days agoNot sure if I’ve had exactly this but I usually open the lid to turn my laptop display back on, pull out the USB-c dock and then open and close the overview with the super key.
I usually have ‘mirrored’ selected as the multi-display option in my settings FWIW.
Farming would have been a nightmare, but being a pirate would have been ace.
No it doesn’t - in fact A4 would make it more versatile
I continue to be astonished at how much data people are getting through.
Am I technogrouch for continuing to watch video at no more than 1080p?
Check out Starlabs - their laptops have Intel processors but use Coreboot as the BIOS with the intel management engine disabled. They’re good with spares and are designed to run Linux. I have one and it runs Debian 13 flawlessly.

8·1 month agoI do something like this at my workplace. I guess it gives me leverage, but the main reason is that my boss drags his heels so much when I try to improve the workflow that it’s easier for me to just crack on without his knowledge.
Apparently this is common enough that there is a term for it.
