Honestly I find their use of “dogpile” very offensive. A pile of dogs?? How rude. Besides which, my sister is a complete and utter dog and I don’t believe the mod in question has any right to talk about her hemerrhoids that way.

I did not ban you, call you out publically, or insult you in any way

      I decided to ban you

      lolwut.

He didn’t call you out publically because ke was afraid of the rightfuk and expected backlash.

Threats done in private have a larger chance of success, and they knew it.

Yeah, RaoulDuke is a thin skinned pussy, coming here and whining that he got banned from somewhere he doesn’t want to be. Oh no! Who cares?

He is right, though. He politely asked you to avoid some language at his channel. Why would you downvote that comment?

Downvotes for disagreements were part of the downfall of reddit.

Let’s be clear - the mod asked that OP not downvote the mods comment asking another commenter to avoid using the word bro. OP never said bro.

Confrontationally DMing someone for a downvote is wild.

Exactly… And then banned them for something they did on a different community. It’s crazy to have such little power and still abuse it.

I’ve upset a prominent mod on Lemmy.world so much by simply having a differing opinion that they banned me from their sub instantly and permanently (with no ban reason given) and then must have vine and asked their other mod buddies to ban me from their communities that I’d literally never so much as even visited lol. Within probably 15 mins of the initial ban I was banned from 3 other communities permanently, and that mod wasn’t a mod on them.

I messaged a few of the other mods on the main sub to let them know what he did, but didn’t hear so much as a peep from them.

          OP never said bro.

          Right, my mistake.

OP is also free to downvote however he pleases.

I just wanted OP to know that the way of his voting created ‘Reddit’. If he wants to avoid it then the voting must change. There are powertripping mods and admins on Lemmy but the fediverse makes sure that that is not the problem.

Let me get this straight, you’re saying that powertripping mods aren’t a problem, because you could technically have the same content on a other instance, but you think a single downvote is a problem?

What’s the alternative here? You’re so against the downvote being used as a disagree button, so do you think OP should’ve just openly commented their disapproval? How do you think this would’ve ended vs a powertripping mod?

If all choices you can make to show disapproval result in bans, is it your fault, the powertripping mods fault, or are you saying we should just shut up and take it?

Yes. I think that’s how everything can develop respectfully.

He politely asked you to avoid some language at his channel.

        “Refrain from the bro-speak.”

I don’t see a question here, just an unsoftened, unexplained demand.
